This alert applies to the following parks:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting a planned burn (weather permitting) from Monday 14th August 2017 to Sunday 20th August, as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests.

These burns are being undertaken to help protect life and property in the event of a wildfire.

Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of camping areas and the Bomber Crash site . Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.

During the planned burn these areas are closed to public access:

  • The Bomber crash site
  • The Wall camping area
  • The Loop Rd 4WD circuit track

Griffiths Creek and The Razorback camping areas are open during this period.

Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.

All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure. To apply for a refund or camping credit, contact camping support at qpws@nprsr.qld.gov.au. Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
