Cooloola Wilderness Trail closure

This alert applies to the following parks:

As a result of severe weather damage, including severe damage to bridges, the Cooloola Wilderness Trail in its entirety is temporarily closed until declared safe.

Bookings for walkers’ campsites are currently restricted until Saturday 20 May 2017.

The following short or day walks will remain open: to Carlo Sandblow, Double Island Point, Poona Lake, Freshwater Lake, Harrys Hut, Mill Point, Kinaba and Fig Tree Point.

QPWS rangers are currently working on repairs. Observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers, and do not enter closed areas.

All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure. For a refund, simply cancel your online booking or contact camping support at qpws@npsr.qld.gov.au. Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
