Partially open: Whitsunday Islands National Park

Tropical Cyclone Debbie has damaged this national park. QPWS is assessing and repairing visitor facilities. The following outlines the current status of visitor facilities:

Whitsunday Island (open facilities)

  • Hill Inlet walking track and lookout
  • Tongue Point: toilet
  • Whitehaven Beach (use with caution, minimal beach area at high tide)
  • Whitehaven Beach day-use area and toilet
  • Solway Circuit track
  • Chance Bay track
  • Sawmill Beach day-use area and toilet
  • Dugong-Sawmill track (open with caution)
  • Dugong Beach camping area and toilet
  • Chance Bay camping area and toilet
  • Cairn Beach camping area and toilet
  • Joe's Beach camping area and toilet
  • Nari's Beach camping area and toilet

Whitsunday Island (closed facilities)

  • Peak track

Hook Island (open facilities)

  • Nara Inlet: Ngaro cultural site

Black Island

  • Beach open with caution
  • Day-use area: open

Langford Island

  • Beach open with caution; exposed rock and minimal beach area available

Use public moorings with caution. Observe all signs, barriers and directions from rangers. Do not enter closed areas. All other facilities remain closed.
