Cooloola Great Walk and Cooloola Wilderness Trail closures and booking restrictions

This alert applies to the following parks:

As a result of a seasonal restrictions, the Cooloola Great Walk and Cooloola Wilderness Trail remain closed. Booking restrictions for these walks are currently in place up to and including 31 March, 2017.

The closures and booking restrictions affect:

  • Cooloola Great Walk from Freshwater Lake to Harry's Hut
  • Cooloola Wilderness Trail in its entirety
  • All Cooloola Great Walk and Cooloola Wilderness Trail campsites.

The following short or day walks in the Cooloola Recreation Area will remain open: to Carlo Sandblow, Double Island Point, Poona Lake, Freshwater Lake, Mill Point, Kinaba, Fig Tree Point, Harry's Hut and Cooloola Sandpatch.

For your safety, please do not enter closed areas and observe all signage and directions from rangers.
