Drug testing procedures

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) is the primary anti-doping Authority in Australia and, as such, is responsible for testing athletes for banned substances in Queensland.

The methods that ASADA officials use to collect samples vary according to whether it is a urine or a blood test.

In each case, strict protocols apply in relation to notifying athletes that they are required to provide a sample, how the sample is collected and the paperwork that needs to be completed. Further information on ASADA's testing process can be found on the ASADA website.
